Pittsburgh RoadsDriver education is an extremely important process and should be taken into consideration for every driver. In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, there are two types of licenses: commercial and non-commercial drivers licenses. There are several steps to follow before obtaining a state-approved driver’s license. In Pittsburgh, and Pennsylvania in general, the minimum age is 16.

However, that’s not all there is to obtaining a Pennsylvania State-approved commercial driver’s license. While the teen driver might prefer to source online for drivers education materials, older people may opt to go the traditional way to obtain safe-driving instruction. Online drivers education is becoming increasingly popular, as it’s a way of reducing cost and time. It all depends on the individual and what option works best for them. However, it’s important for youngsters and even adults who are new drivers to be educated themselves on safe-driving to reduce driving risks.

Many young drivers overlook the driving risks and never completely understand how to maintain driving safety. Safety on the road should be the number one thing in the mind of any driver who is taking a driver education class. It’s in this class that they are taught defensive driving and safe driving and something we offer. This goes a long way to help them manage risk of injury, reduces their insurance cost and overall driving liability.

Before attempting to start driving, it’s pertinent that teen drivers and adults know the many safety measures that can be taken by a driver to protect themselves, other passengers, drivers and pedestrians that are encountered on the roads. New drivers, especially teens, should be enlightened with this information. Prior to taking the actual road test, a written or computer test is mandatory for all new drivers with exceptions to those drivers who have held driver’s licenses in other States or jurisdictions, outside of the United States.

For underage drivers less than 18 years of age, a class in reducing injury and liability is required to help them get a head start. This education not only prepares them for a whole new world of driving, but also presents them with the opportunity to learn defensive driving and driving safely when they actually hit the roads. These early stage steps set a precedence in a new drivers history and ultimately positions them to take advantage of benefits such as low cost of insurance, low risk of accidents, reducing the risk of injury and finally reducing insurance liability.

These are lessons important for those who are applying for both commercial and non-commercial driver’s licenses. Ultimate Defensive Driving offers classes in both of these ares and we’d be happy to facilitate your needs today.
