Teens Killed In Vehicle Crash

Driving is a huge freedom that teens have. With this freedom comes a very big responsibility. Teens need to understand that what they are driving can hurt them or someone else in seconds. Speeding is a huge factor as to why teens crash. There is no need to speed.

Not only can speed kill, but also, a speeding ticket can be issued. It is not worth it to speed. Teens may feel pressured to speed because they are running late. Time can not be made up by driving over the speed limit. If a teen is running late, make a phone call to someone to let them know and that can take the pressure off.

Teenagers often feel a sense of invincibility. This combined with their tendency to engage in risky behavior can lead them to speed while driving. They also tend to leave less distance between their cars and the vehicles in front of them.

Earlier this morning, 6 teens were involved in a crash. 2 of the teens were killed.  The crash took place at 3:20 am Six people were in the vehicle. An 18 year old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. A 14 year old boy was flown to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Two other passengers were taken to a hospital in stable condition and two others in the vehicle were not hurt.

From what is understood, the SUV involved in the crash was speeding, when the 18 year old driver lost control and hit a tree.

This was needless and didn’t have to happen. Two families are now without their loved one and 4 more are just as affected.

Car crashes can destroy lives in an instant, getting behind the wheel is a great opportunity for teens.  Slow down.

With our training, we make sure that teens understand the responsibility they have to themselves and others.  Our training also keeps teens safe and alive on the road.
